PROTECT
AFGHAN CIVIL
RIGHTS ACTIVISTS
&
JOURNALISTS

Welcome. We have recruited a very able team to help vulnerable civil and women’s, rights activists, journalist, and others promoting Western values now in fear of their families’ lives, from the Taliban to escape Afghanistan and find safe refuge.

ABOUT US.

Helena Kennedy, Baroness Kennedy of The Shaws

"Article 12 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights incorporates the right to freedom of movement, and freedom to depart, “Everyone shall be free to leave any country, including his own.”

Flight from Plight is trying to help those, particularly women, struggling to exercise their right in trying circumstances.  They need our support."

OUR
MISSION
.

YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE

Everyone working towards Flight from Plight’s aims are volunteers. We have no paid staff or other overheads besides the costs of transferring funds to Afghanistan. Because time is of the essence, rather than create a new charity we are channeling funds through The Mountain Trust, a UK registered charity (number 1112841). The Trust’s accounts can be inspected on the Charity Commission website. Whilst the Trust has raised over £400,000 for Nepal since 1999, this fundraising campaign’s contributions will be separately identified so that all funds intended to assist the evacuations get through.

If any potential donor would like further information, please Contact Us. If you think you could make a helpful difference in any other way, we’d welcome your getting in touch.

Our shared objective is simple – to save civil and women’s rights activists and journalists being hunted down, tortured, women raped, and executed. It is heartless - the Taliban’s revenge is brutal and cruel.
